The human body is designed for motion and requires regular exercise to stay functional and avoid disease. During childhood and adolescence most of us got more than adequate exercise through play and involvement in sports. As adults, however, our opportunities for physical exertion have become more limited and most of us tend toward a more sedentary lifestyle.
